ACDC 4-H Makes STEM Learning Fun

ACDC Baltimore is committed to enriching, educational opportunities for the youth of the Ashland Community, all of East Baltimore and beyond.  One of the most challenging areas of study for our young students is within Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics –STEM.

So, ACDC Baltimore is making STEM exciting and fun through our 4-H programs.  For example, Saturday, May 20, 2023, members of the Ashland 4 H Club, volunteers, and parents traveled to Severn, MD, to test launch a drone that was built by the club.  It was a day to celebrate the result of their hard work and dedication as their very own drone took flight.  The kids loved it.

The instructor, Mr. Meet Shah, is an engineer from Northrop Grumman who volunteered his time and expertise to make it all happen.  He was right there, hands-on, to show the students how to fly the device.

Between taking their turn operating the drone students engaged in tossing balls, bubble play, chalk art design and just resting on the property’s large hammock.

The afternoon was capped off with pizza and wings.
